Cars from USA Auctions
In an online auto auction, most of the inventory comprises used cars. Therefore, it is essential to understand that at least one person has previously owned the vehicle you are looking at.
The REDB1RD LLC staff comprises professionals with extensive experience in shipping and exporting vehicles internationally. While we can assure you we will do all the hard work for you. To take it easy, there are a few important points to keep in mind, mentioned below, to make the process of exporting a car as easy as possible.
Valid Titles Only
If you bought a car from the US and you plan on exporting it, for US Customs to allow the exportation of your vehicle, it is critical to ensure that it has a valid title. What does that mean? If the said vehicle comes with documents branded with a Junk title or listed as a Bill of Sale, the exportation will be impossible.
We recommend doing a background check of the car before bidding on it to check for other things that may prevent us from exporting it, such as lien.
Pay Attention to Bill of Sale Cars
A bill of sale is a document that can not prove ownership of the vehicle. It holds valuable information about the transaction, date of purchase, and buyer, as well as the vehicle’s history, which you can check in the Vehicle History Report.
If you want proof that you own the car, make sure to get a title transfer.
A bill of sale does not prove ownership—only a title transfer does that.

Redb1rd has a handy appraisal tool for establishing average prices of the final BIDs of used cars from Copart and IAAI.
Once you’ve entered a few options such as a car’s make, model, year, mileage, or condition, the information displays at the bottom of the results page.
LBV - Last Bid Value
Average Price is what others are paying for the same: MAKE MODEL YEAR MILAGE AND DAMAGE TYPE of car, not including taxes or fees.
To Determine the Average Price, our system analysis millions of data of sold cars on Auctions. The system estimates a vehicle’s average BID price, not its “out the door” cost. Average Price will not include incentives and fees typically applied after a determined transaction price.
These include manufacturer-to-consumer rebates (such as dealer cash), sales tax, DMV fees, and dealer documentation (“doc”) fees.

Main Types of Car Titles
The certificate is the legal form of the ownership of the vehicle. The certificate confirms that the person or institution is the car's legal owner. The vehicle title brand indicates whether the vehicle is damaged or you can safely drive it.
Copart Buyer Fees and payments
Copart fees and taxes may apply in addition to the final sale price when you win a Vehicle on the Copart Auction. Membership fees are based on the vehicle's final sale price.

Upon successfully winning an auction or confirming a “Buy Now” purchase, you will receive an emailed invoice that will include detailed instructions about how to complete the wire transfer. Please note that most banks will charge a wire transfer fee. We strongly suggest that you make your payment on the same day that the auction or “Buy Now” is completed in order to avoid any penalties or late fees. Please consult your bank prior to bidding about their expected time to process wire transfers to ensure that you will be able to meet this deadline.
Starting the third day after the purchase, you will be fined a late fee of either $50 per day or 2% of the total purchase price (whichever is greater). At this time, we will also ask for a copy of the contact information of the sending bank and/or a copy of the payment confirmation. Please note that if we do not receive either the full payment or the requested documentation within 5 five days after the auction, we may relist the vehicle and you will be responsible for a relisting fee of either $400 or 15% of the purchase price (whichever is greater).

Deposit
Providing a security deposit is standard for auto auctions and will act as a guarantee for your bid. If full payment for vehicle is not received within seven days of the auction, your security deposit will be forfeited. You are required to deposit 10% of your maximum bid, with the minimum deposit being $400. If you are interested in bidding on multiple listings at one time, a separate security deposit will be required for each listing. For example: If you want to bid on two vehicles, you will need to make a minimum deposit of $400 two times, equalling $800 total. This will allow you to bid on two vehicles up to $4,000 each at the same time.

Paperwork
Once your vehicle has been paid, you’ll receive a bill of sale and an odometer disclosure to sign electronically online through DocuSign. Once the title has been received from the auction, we reassign it under your name and mail it to the address that was specified.
All documentation will be sent to your provided address or to the port agent of the vehicle’s destination.
It typically takes anywhere between 2-3 weeks after a vehicle has been purchased to retrieve the title from the dealer. In some cases, it can be up to 4-5 weeks. The seller has thirty days to provide the title of a car sold at auction.
Bid N Drive cannot guarantee types of titles. An equivalent title type to the one displayed in the online description may be sent instead, though differences are typically minor and have no change in equivalence. Laws and regulations may require our dealers and/or insurance companies to transfer the title to the buyer’s residential state.
This means that the vehicle has been rebuilt after being involved in an accident. It also means that it has been passed by road safety officers to operate in the country.
This title applies to vehicles whose repairs following an accident equal up to 75% of the vehicle’s market cost. This certificate also applies to vehicles whose repairs were declared unfeasible by insurance companies.
No, you can not. Please check your state registration requirements in prior to vehicle purchase.
Vehicle
All of the information we have about the vehicle or auction is included on the listing page. Bid N Drive is not responsible for information listed at lot’s page. We will not be able to provide any additional information.
If a vehicle was sold before at a salvage auction, Bid N Drive may be able to provide you with pictures of the vehicle’s condition as it was previously sold. This could help you to avoid purchasing a vehicle with previous major damages. Please note that Bid N Drive can not provide this information if a previously sold vehicle does not have any pictures in the database.
Information about key availability can be found on the lot’s description. In most cases, vehicles sold through insurance auctions come with keys; however, keys can be lost during the transportation of the vehicle or while the vehicle is located at the auction lot. For these reasons, we cannot guarantee that your purchased vehicle will come with keys, even if they are pictured in the online listing. Bid N Drive does not responsible for lost or stolen keys.
The price varies widely based on the amount and type of damage done to the vehicle. Typically, the greater the vehicle’s damage, the lower the cost will be. It is helpful to know that a vehicle with a salvage title typically costs about 40-50% less than a car with a clean title. Other factors, such as mileage over 100,000, deployed air bags, or engine damage, can lower the price as much as 60%.
The overall cost of the vehicle will include the cost of the vehicle, auction fees, transaction fees, documentation fees, and transportation fees (if transportation is required).
For some specific vehicles, auction personnel will be able to verify the “Run and Drive” condition or “Vehicle Starts” capability at the time the vehicle is checked in for auction. Bid N Drive does not personally verify this information and therefore cannot make any guarantees . The auction personnel typically conducts the verification by starting the vehicle with or without a jump, wire splicing, booster box, etc. The auction site does not guarantee that any particular vehicle will be roadworthy or that it will be able to start without a jump or move under its own power at the time of purchase. We cannot be held responsible for the verification results or related condition of the vehicle.
Because of the potential of loose parts being lost or misplaced while at the auction site or during transit, we cannot guarantee that they will be included with the vehicle purchase, even if they are pictured in the listing.
All vehicles are sold as is. Please be sure to consider the possibility of damages under the hood, to the undercarriage, and/or other areas where damages may not be visible. All known damages to vehicles are listed clearly on the website. Refunds will not be issued for vehicles with unknown damages/damages not visible in pictures. We recommend ordering an inspection from an independent inspector to obtain confirmation of a vehicle’s condition.
We are not able to give an estimate of repair costs for any of our vehicles and we do not oversee repairs. Contact an authorized dealer or salvage yard, or research prices online to get a good idea of how much repairs or spare parts for a specific vehicle would cost.
You will need to check the specific requirements and guidelines for your particular state, but generally the reconstruction process is straightforward. You will typically first need to get the vehicle repaired according to your state’s guidelines, which is the “reconstruction” phase. Once the vehicle is repaired, it will need to be inspected. Once it passes inspection, you will need to fill out and submit the required forms to the DMV. Upon DMV approval, you will need to register and insure the vehicle so that it can legally be driven on the roads. More specific instructions can be found on our Reconstruction Info page. Note that any links to information contained on our information page lead to pages that are not monitored or controlled by us. We cannot guarantee that any vehicle purchased through our site will be able to be reconstructed or titled in any specific state or country. Below are links to Department of Motor Vehicles in each state.
You may be able to register a purchased vehicle in the United States, but you will need to check the specific requirements that would apply to your particular vehicle prior to making a purchase.
A “Not Actual” odometer reading means that the odometer is not accurate or could not be determined. This could be due to several factores, such as the odometer has been repaired/replaced, the vehicle was stolen and recovered, or other nonapparent reasons. If you have questions or would like further information, you can visit the facility where the vehicle is currently located to inspect it in person or hire an independent inspector to inspect the vehicle.
By federal law, vehicles over 10 years old are not required to display mileage or an odometer code. These vehicles are listed as “Mileage: Exempt”. The mileage for some salvage vehicles may also be marked as “Exempt” if the conditions which led to the salvage titling prohibited verification of mileage.
All information known about vehicle damage is shown on our website, so we do not receive and will not be able to provide any additional information. We recommend ordering an inspection from independent inspector to confirm the state of your vehicle.
When the primary or secondary damage on the vehicle is listed as “Damage History”, then past damages have occurred to this vehicle. Bid N Drive will not have additional information about the details of this damage and does not offer any warranty options. We recommend ordering an inspection from independent inspector to confirm the state of your vehicle.
“Rejected Repair” indicates that there is potential proof of previous, lesser quality repairs to the vehicle. All known information regarding the repair history or condition of a vehicle is listed on our website. Bid N Drive does not receive any additional information. We recommend ordering an inspection from independent inspector to confirm the state of your vehicle.

We deliver to residential areas as long as trucks are allowed in there area and sufficient space is present for the truck. If this is not the case, we will deliver the vehicle to the closest parking lot. NOTE: if the car not drivable, the customer will be responsible for unloading the vehicle from the delivery truck.
Domestic transportation typically takes between 3-10 business days for delivery, depending on the vehicle’s original location and final destination.
Yes, the driver will contact you with the approximate date and time to expect the delivery. Please make sure that you are available to receive the delivery at the arranged time.
It typically takes between 1-5 days to pick up a vehicle. This depends greatly on the location of the vehicle. We can give you our best estimate, but we cannot guarantee an exact time that we will load and deliver the vehicle.
We cannot guarantee the exact pick up date of your vehicle because there are a number of factors, including weather conditions, that could potentially delay vehicle pick up. Therefore, all specified dates should be considered as estimates and not exact pick up times.

Car Shipping Procedures Overseas
Once full payment for a vehicle has been made, we will begin the shipping process!
We provide reliable vehicle logistics when shipping your vehicles overseas from the United States. Typically we ship cars using shipping containers placed on ocean vessels. Cars are safely collected using open or enclosed car carriers and transported to a loading facility where they are securely loaded inside a shipping container by an experienced team. The enclosed car carrier is the safest and most reliable way to ship new and used vehicles, including classic cars, exotics, and race cars from the United States. We have fully operating loading warehouses in Atlanta, Savannah, Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Texas, and Canada.
INLAND TRANSPORTATION
Delivery to the loading warehouse
We Pick Your Vehicle Up From US Auto Auction Or Dealership And Deliver It To Our Shipping (Loading) Warehouse. Timeframe For The Delivery To Warehouse Depends On The Location Of The Auction Or Dealership. Usually, It Takes 2-7 Business Days.
We have a wide range of experience working across the U.S. territory, enabling us to contact many vehicle carriers. We have the resources to ensure that all your domestically purchased equipment will be moved safely and at affordable rates. We provide transportation services from any U.S. dealership and auto auctions: Copart, Manheim, OVE, IAAI, ADESA, TRA Auction. Inland transportation refers to the movement of goods to and from the port. Inland transport occurs using multiple modes of transportation, truck, rail, barge, and air. Some freight service providers offer dedicated inland freight services, while others combine inland freight with ocean freight to provide complete freight transportation services. The combination of inland and ocean freight services expedites the shipments and brings efficiency in shipment transactions. It allows the freight shipping companies to deliver or transport the freight at the nearest terminal, port, or rail ramp, thus reducing the overall cost of shipment. Some inland freight service providers also offer storage and warehouse facilities for storing the goods at the port. This service is beneficial for inland vehicle transportation. Inland freight service provider's transport is for car shipping within the U.S. Before pinning down an inland auto transport service provider, you should ensure that it has the required expertise and experience to provide reliable and efficient services. Following are some of the qualities you should look for when selecting an inland transport service company.
We take care of
01.
Open channel of communication.
When transporting goods inland, it is essential that the freight service provider keeps the communication line open. Good inland transport service providers offer an accurate tracking system for real-time tracking of the goods. Real-time tracking ensures the maximum safety of goods as they move from origin to destination. It also gives you peace of mind and assurance that the goods will arrive on time without delay or damage.
02.
Highly organized documentation process.
Another hallmark of a good inland transport service provider is that they offer an organized documentation process. A proper inland transporter will submit accurate car hauling documentation. Properly handling paperwork is essential in freight forwarding. Any mistake in documentation can result in the wrong delivery of the cargo or charging an extra amount for the freight service. Organized and efficient documentation also prevents delays and ensures that the shipment arrives at the right destination at the right time.
03.
Proper handling of goods.
A good inland freight service provider knows the proper procedure to handle goods during transport. The service provider uses reliable and efficient packing systems and containers, especially fragile goods. When selecting a freight service provider, you should ensure that it has the required knowledge and experience to handle the cargo properly.
04.
Reliable Network of Forwarding Agents and Customs Brokers.
The essential quality of Freight Forwarder is partnering with a network of reliable and experienced forwarding agents and customs brokers. Strong network collaboration will ensure that the information regarding the shipment flows back and forth seamlessly, thus avoiding delays and stoppages.
05.
Insurance coverage.
Lastly, the inland freight service provider should offer a high level of cargo insurance. Insurance coverage is needed to compensate for the loss in damages due to accidents or other mishaps during transportation.

Container Loading and Vehicle Shipping
After receiving a title for the vehicle, we'll consolidate the container, do all necessary paperwork, and load vehicles. Depending on their size, we will load your car into a 40 feet high cube container that fits 3-4 vehicles. Note: In some cases, there could be delays in title receives. Auctions and dealerships have 30 days to provide us with the title for the vehicle. Once we load the car into the container, we will transport the container to the export port. We will submit paperwork for the container to the US Customs. After getting the documents back from the customs, we prepare to load the container on the vessel. Upon vessel's sailing, you will receive the container number and a link to the web page where you can track the ship's position and its arrival date to the destination port. You will also receive all necessary documents for your vehicle, such as the Title, Bill of Sale, Bill of Lading. You will be required to have those documents with you when picking up your vehicle upon arrival and when registering your car in your state or country. Note: REDB1RD is not responsible for Customs inspection fees, demurrage, storage, or other fees associated with Customs exams.
Our extensive list of contacts with licensed operators such as Freight Forwarders and NVOCC allows us to provide the highest quality services to our clients.
We cooperate with loading warehouses located in Atlanta, Savannah, Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Texas, and Canada. Our experience will guarantee a safe and secure transportation service. We cooperate with different port agents in various countries across the world and will assist you in unloading and documents processing. The rules and bylaws regarding the international shipment of vehicles are slightly different from general cargo shipment. U.S. and foreign customs consider any vehicle a motorized vehicle if it requires a DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) registration. Regarded as vehicles are: ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), Automobiles, Boats, Jet skis, Mopeds, Motorcycles, and Trucks. Overseas freight service providers provide two alternatives to carry motorized vehicles: Ocean container or Lift-on Lift-off (Lo Lo) Shipping Service Roll-on Roll-off (Ro-Ro) Shipping Service.
Shipment of Motorized Vehicles in Containers
The shipment of vehicles is the most popular and least expensive way to ship a vehicle. Motorized vehicles are placed inside the containers and loaded onto the ocean-going vessels using cranes. Shipping vehicles in containers may be the only option if they are delivered to the port of departure and transported away from the destination port using road transport, rail, or trucks. Ocean vessels that carry vehicles in containers are Lo-Lo (Lift On/Lift Off) vessels because the load is lifted on and off the vehicle using cranes. Motorized vehicles are placed and secured inside multimodal freight containers in two ways.
Shipping A Single Motorized Vehicle In A Container
High-value vehicles are usually shipped using this option. Sending a single car in a container minimizes the chance of damage during transportation. It increases the probability that the car arrives at its destination safely and securely without any dents, scratches, and other vehicle damage.
Shipping Multiple Motorized Vehicles In A Container
Another option for international shipping of motorized vehicles is placing more than one vehicle inside the multimodal freight container. The consolidated cars may belong to different owners or the same owner. An advantage of shipping vehicles consolidated with other cars is that you save on the freight costs. A disadvantage of shipping vehicles consolidated in a single container is that it increases damage during transportation. In addition, if the container contains cars of different owners, it will cause delays due to auditing and finalizing international shipping documents relating to the ownership of the concerned vehicles. On a final note, remember that U.S. customs does not recognize an ocean shipping agents' container freight service for vehicles as an LCL ocean freight service. International shipment of cars in containers is treated differently from LCL (Less than container load) sea freight services. LCL ocean freight is used for shipping crated, boxed, and palletized cargo through the ocean. Shipment of vehicles in containers, on the other hand, is treated as FCL (Full Container Load). The Shipping rates and inspection procedure of FCL cargo are also different from LCL cargo.
Patience Is Key
The process of exporting a vehicle can take much time. At the same time, we can understand the excitement of receiving your car. We want to remind you that exporting requires that U.S. Customs clear the vehicle before it is possible to load it onto a ship for export. It will take some time for the vessel to cross the ocean to you. Once it is ready, and while we will do all we can to get it done as fast as possible for you, there will still be a slight wait.
Cars from Japanese Auto Auctions
Japanese Auto Auctions
4.8 million vehicles were exported out of Japan in 2019 alone, similarly to the previous year. Most of these were passenger cars, with a total grand number or almost 4.4 million units.
What exactly are the Japanese used car auctions?
When it comes to Japanese auctions, it is a requirement to be a Japan-registered dealer to bid on any vehicles. Nonetheless, even though it is against their policy, it is common for the dealer to accept the general public, including foreign buyers, because they know that they make up between 30 and 40% of all sales, meaning they influence the prices. Often you will be required to wear an ID identifying you as a fake employee of the dealer’s company.
What are the main auction groups?
The larger auction groups in Japan are as follows:
The USS auction group
The TAA auction group (Toyota Auto Auction)
The JU auction group
The Honda auction group
The JAA auction group
The CAA auction group
The HAA or Hanaten group.
Despite this group only holding two auctions, it fully deserves to be mentioned in this list, as the Saturday HAA auction is the second biggest in Japan.
These mentioned above are the major groups, but not the only ones.
How to Read a Japanese Car Auction Sheet
Any car that enters the Japanese market is inspected to comply with export rules and regulations in terms of quality control. It is your right as a buyer to know everything about the condition of the car you wish to purchase. During the selection process, you will get an inspection sheet that helps you see the car’s defects you are buying. As a result, you’ll be able to make informed choices as you select from hundreds of vehicles that exactly match your requirements.
All critical points from the positive and negative parts of the Japanese auction sheet are translated into English by our agents.
